KENNEDY AND ME, Clint Hill describes his first meeting with Jacqueline Kennedy, in November 1960, when she was pregnant. John was born about two weeks later, and Clint Hill was with her in the hospital. President-elect Kennedy had flown to Florida earlier that evening and immediately flew back to Washington to see his newborn son.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15813459452240294757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4872198536492973916.post-86145370694377608242014-06-08T08:34:25.456-04:002014-06-08T08:34:25.456-04:00Jackie was not pregnant with Caroline when Mr. Hil...Jackie was not pregnant with Caroline when Mr. Hill started working for her. She was expecting John Jr. He was never called John John except by the media. It was always John Jr. The John John came from all the media calling out John at the same time to get his attention. It was like an echo. You'd hear John then another John followed it. So it sounded like his name was John John but he was never called that.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4872198536492973916.post-41955829553657450212013-05-31T20:43:01.164-04:002013-05-31T20:43:01.164-04:00First time I was on the Sequoia, I was able to loo...First time I was on the Sequoia, I was able to look at
all the archival books. It read as an historical document and a love story. pls come to RI in the future as I would like to thank you for your great writing and I would love to meet Agent Hill and share a few minutes with him in conversation as my thesis in college was on the Warren commission and I would love to get a few of his afterthoughts.I visited the depository after the sad day when this all happened and was walked thru the entire day and locations on that sad November day.
I would love to tell him that from what I saw and learned that there was no way he could have prevented the actions of that day and he did what was expected of him and then some.
Best to you and Agent Hill and hopefully you will visit the Northeast. I missed you in LaJolla at Warwicks but did get an autographed copy sent, and I want to get another to give to my son as a gift.
Be well and many thanks
Dave Robitaille
Warwick RI
FBINA uuuckstDave Robitaillenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4872198536492973916.post-29756762158208060232012-07-12T22:47:45.332-04:002012-07-12T22:47:45.332-04:00Thank you for working with Clint Hill to tell his ...Thank you for working with Clint Hill to tell his story. His respectful attitude and emotional attachment to Mrs. Kennedy and the Kennedy family was evident throughout the book, and his account of that fateful day in Dallas and the days following was heart-wrenching. I remember watching the events unfold on tv (along with the entire nation), and I appreciate that his narrative is now available for the generations who have been born since then.S Brownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4872198536492973916.post-47534636864763954242012-07-07T03:09:06.026-04:002012-07-07T03:09:06.026-04:00Please come to southern California! I realize you are not responsible for the content of this review, it it is incorrect. In 1960, Mrs. Kennedy was pregnant for the fourth time. She suffered a miscarriage very early in her marriage, then had a stillborn baby girl in 1956, then had Caroline in 1957 and was pregnant with John, Jr. in 1960.The Gal Herselfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02566779726191649848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4872198536492973916.post-45504333455400878832012-04-24T00:46:21.066-04:002012-04-24T00:46:21.066-04:00Ms. McCubbin, please receive my gratitude to you a...Ms. McCubbin, please receive my gratitude to you and Mr. Hill for such a well written book that effortlessly takes us back to the 1960s!

I am a consistent reader of that particular time in Mrs. Kennedy's life and Mr. HIll's name comes up constantly in the various texts I have read. When I came upon your book, and with such wonderful reviews, I did not hesitate to purchase it. It is absolutely wonderful!!!

Please extend my thanks to Mr. Hill for sharing his memories. It can not be easy in any way, shape or form to relive such a bittersweet time of his life. Especially on a regular basis as must be the case with a tour. I was impressed, moved and felt melancholy after remembering the events of Nov.22nd 1963. Mr. Hill did a nice job of recounting his professional relationship with the first lady and their worldwide travels. I am just starting the book but I am anticipating an equally enjoyable journey.
I have been interested in the story of J.F.K. since 1960 and Ms. McCubbin's books, "The Kennedy Detail" and now "Mrs. Kennedy and Me" are adding a new dimension to my understanding of that era.
With the 50th anniversary of President Kennedys assassination approaching next year I am tryng to collect my own thoughts about the feelings of an 8 year old boy who admired J.F.K. on 11/22/63 (Me). Mr. Hill & Ms. McCubbin has done the world a great favor by revealing the other side of Jackie Kennedy.

The interview, this book, and the Kennedy Detail book, shows you how these agents were really close to the people that they were protecting. They looked at their job as more than a job. As Mr. Hill noted, when Mrs. Kennedy was in the hospital per the birth of her baby, he was just as anxious as President Kennedy. And even today, even though Mr. Hill knows he did the best he could for Oswald had the advantage, he still believes he could have done more.Jeff Pullennoreply@blogger.com
